![]() Power Management - Maximum Performance, should prevent your GPU from clocking down and back up whilst in CSGO, potentially cause frame pacing issues. Remember were working with the limitations of Source, regardless of the IPC of the chip. In theory, this should relieve some strain from the CPU. Again, if your on a reasonably good ram kit, and using nand storage, source caching shaders from the disk shouldnt be an issue. Shadercache - Ive had sucess with forcing the shader cache off for CSGO using the Nvidia control panel. At the time of using AMD cards, I didnt have much faith in the drivers and avoided using Anti Lag all together. In the BETA days, users did experience stutter on Ultra. ![]() Truth is, without top of the line frame capture devices, Ill never know how much impact this has on input response times. Ive tried to measure this using ingame counters, AHK and a friends high fps camera. I currently use Low Latency "ON" rather than OFF or Ultra, and find that, with good hardware, has little if any real effect. Nvidia Control Panel/AdrenalinLow Latency/Anti-Lag - Until you fix your stutter issues, Id avoid the Latency options offered by both drivers. Hell you could come away from this still experiecing stutter - although Ive had great sucess with these measures amongst my own Steam friends list and Discord communities. ![]() Your issue may be fixed by applying just one of these mitigations, or all of them. I offer below a few mitigations which should ease the stutter in CSGO. Outside of the performance improvements found within disabling SMT, Ive found the issue to be indiscriminate of the platform its on. Having experienced and troubleshooted this issue with CSGO on various mid - high end configurations, containing a mix of Intel, Nvidia and AMD components since the Panorama update. I theorise as cores, frequencies and IPCs have increased, the source engine hasnt scaled well. This guide is aimed primarily at stutter, something I didnt experince until 6 core CPUS and DDR4. I havnt played CSGO on a potato in quite a while now. There is no saying this guide wont help you with lower specced hardware, but any experience Ive had with CSGO has been with machines that can hit 144fps consitent. After seeing another post today about stutter, I figured its time I brought this infomation together. Luckily, Id been dealing with problem for a while and have collated a series of fixes that have improved the responsiveness and performance consistency of CSGO. My recent 5800x/3080 with an NVMe install stuttered right out of the box in DMs. Now anyone whos built a system that far exceeds CSGOs system requirements has probably been left dumb founded as to why they can exceed 250+ frames yet still face stutter their previous hardware just didnt.
